The Pontchartrain Institute for Environmetal Sciences (PIES) at the University of New Orleans maintains an extensive collection of high resolution vector shorelines, land use/land cover data, aerial photography and topographic survey sheets (t-sheets) dating back to the 1800's.

Coastal Louisiana Vector Shorelines Download the latest and most up to date high resolution vector shorelines for coastal Louisiana in shapefile format.
The vectorized shorelines are in UTM Zone 15, spheroid GRS 1980 and referenced to the NAD 1983 datum. Data files are offered in the compressed ZIP format.

Coastal Zone Land Use/Land Cover Data NOAA Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) products are part of a nationally standardized database of land cover and change information, developed using remotely sensed imagery.
Land cover and land cover change data were produced for the U.S. Gulf of Mexico coastal region using 30 meter resolution Landsat Thematic Mapper and Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper satellite imagery.
